We are delighted that your child will be joining our Millfields' family in September, when they join our Reception class. We are really looking forward to getting to know them and you. Normally at this time of year we would be inviting yourself and your child into school for several visits, however, this year due to the unprecedented circumstances, this is not feasible. Therefore, the transition into school will look very different to past years but please be assured we are working very hard to make your child’s transition into school as smooth and as worry free as we possibly can under these challenging circumstances.
We will be using this webpage to share different information and news with you, as well as allowing your child to get to know us and the Reception classroom, so they can feel as comfortable as possible when they can come and see us.
Within Reception, we have three members of staff that will be working with your children.
- Mrs Swindley will be teaching the children every Monday and Tuesday.
- Miss Robinson will be teaching the chldren every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Mrs Mouslon will be supporting the children all week
We also know how important it is, to both yourself and your child, to know what the classroom is like. Therefore, we have created a virtual tour of the classroom, which will hopefully give the children a little idea of what it will be like. Click here to watch www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM-TG6D_ct0
As a school, we have also have a very own YouTube channel. While the children have been learning at home, the Reception team have been using this channel to keep in touch with the children, as we have read stories, shared songs, completed crafts and delievered some phonics lessons. Please feel free to watch these any time to help the children get to know us. They can be found at www.youtube.com/channel/UCBNQ19gBO_refeyeCdVr6dw
Over the coming weeks, we will be adding more stories to the channel, specifically for your children so they can begin to feel part of Millfields and our class.
If you have any questions, queries or concerns, we are more than happy to help in way that we can. We know that when your child starts school it is a big event for you as a parent and one that can be quite daunting. It has also been made more difficult with current circumstances and therefore we really do want to do all we can to help. Please contact us via email on either:
