Hello Year 2,
From Wednesday 6th January, we will use Google Classroom for our remote learning until the current situation changes. I will set tasks on this platform (the login details are already in your reading record) and hopefully you will remember how to use it from when we practiced using this learning tool in school. I have a copy of passwords, if needed. We will also organise some catch-up sessions on Google Meets. Information on time/day will be posted on our Stream. This is on the home page of Year 2 Google Classroom. No new work will be set on Google classrooms on Thursday as I am in work on that day, so please refer to activties below on days such as this.
The suggested activities, found below, are not part of Google classroom, so they can be done at any time and do not need to be sent to me for checking.
A great resource and well worth using https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-key-stage/key-stage-1. We are currently (January 2021) working on multiplication and division. This will be followed by Statistics, Properties of Shape and then Fractions.
Numbots - An exciting resource available from Times Table Rockstars. The creators of Times Tables Rock Stars have produced a platform for boosting number recognition, addition and subtraction skills, called NumBots. It is important that your child develops efficient mental calculation strategies to add and subtract two-digit numbers, so that they can leave counting on their fingers behind, and NumBots will help do this.https://play.numbots.com/?#/game-mode.
