Hi Year 5,

Wow year 5 what an brilliant week you have all had on seesaw.  I am so impressed with how hard you have all been working.  I have also loved seeing how creative you are all being so  I am looking forward to the work you do this week.  A big thank you as well to all the parents supporting with home learning, I really appreciate it.

 Try and keep up the good work and let's see what you can achieve this half term!

This week's home learning is all set on Seesaw, and as usual some tasks become visible on a certain day, but don't worry, there's plenty to keep you busy this week!

Look out for the video montage of your well being videos this week which I will send out to you.  I have set another video challenge this week, the paper aeroplane message video.  If you would like your child's video to be part of the video montage, please send me your permission via email.

The tasks will be visible on Seesaw until Friday evening. Enjoy and have fun!

Home Learning for Week Beginning 22.6.20 


1. Daily maths lessons- There are four maths lessons which I would like the children to complete and return to me using Seesaw. I will attach the lessons daily.  Please see Seesaw.

Fluent in 5 -Extra daily revision of key mathematical skills - print out and complete the sheets - see below at the bottom for the page 

Times Table Rockstars - 10 sessions by Thursday please



I would like you to complete a reading comprehension called The Contraption.  This task is set for Monday.  Please see Seesaw.


I also have set a writing activity which is also your history activity for this week.  I would like you to produce a children's book about the Hero Twins.  This activity is on Seesaw.


15- 30  minutes each day please and remember to log on to the Accelerated reader website when you have completed your book.

 Your topis for this half term is the  Mayans.  This week's activity is about Mayan entertainment. This activity is on seesaw for you complete. 


This half term we will focus on Life cycles of plants and animals and for this week, I would like you to learn about the life cycle of birds. - please see Seesaw


This week's task is to create a bird sculpture (I have given you two weeks to complete this). Please see Seesaw.

Useful Maths Websites  This is the Acclerated Reader Website which allows children to complete their reading quizzes. Certificates for each level will be given out on our return to school, so keep quizzing! This is a great website for reinforcing previously learnt maths skills. There are 5 questions each day and you can choose the level of difficulty. This website allows children to complete tasks online and each question is marked and an explanation given if the answer is incorrect. There are a range of topics on the site. Start with the decimal section please.
